The widow of Luke Ashton, who took his life in 2021 amid gambling struggles, was appalled to discover Betfair sent a promotional email to her late husband after his death. Annie Ashton recounted finding an email urging Luke to log in for rewards. “This made me very angry,” she said. Luke’s final years of gambling were mostly on Betfair, she added.
